Welcoming Jesahel Madfes, NP-C, PMHNP-BC to Salinda Health

We are thrilled to welcome Jesahel Madfes, NP-C, PMHNP-BC to Salinda Health as the newest member of our clinical team. Jesahel brings a rare blend of expertise, warmth, and whole-person care, deepening our commitment to providing affirming, accessible, and deeply human healthcare for the LGBTQIA+ community while adding a specialized focus in perinatal mental health.

A Dual-Certified Provider With a Holistic Approach

As both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP, certified since 2011) and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Jesahel offers a truly integrative style of care. Her dual training allows her to connect mental and physical health seamlessly, giving patients a more complete understanding of their well-being and opening pathways to healing that honor the full complexity of their lives.

Grounded in Collaboration, Curiosity, and Evidence-Based Care

Originally from Mexico City, Jesahel completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from UCSF. She practices with a collaborative, shared decision-making philosophy, believing that the most effective care happens when patients are informed, empowered partners in their own health.

Her specialized clinical interests include:

  • Gender-Affirming Care

  • Perinatal Psychiatry

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health

Specialized Support for the Perinatal Journey

Pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, loss, and the transition into early parenthood can bring complex emotional experiences. Jesahel has a particular focus on supporting individuals and families through these stages, providing compassionate, evidence-based care from preconception and fertility planning through pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Her work includes the evaluation and treatment of a range of perinatal mental health concerns, including depression and anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, OCD, and stress related to life transitions and pregnancy in pregnant people. Jesahel approaches this work with deep sensitivity to the emotional, physical, and relational changes that can arise during this time, meeting patients wherever they are in their journey.

A Commitment to Community, Local and Global

Jesahel’s dedication to health equity extends far beyond the clinic walls. She has provided primary and perinatal care during medical missions across the Guatemalan Highlands and in refugee camps in Greece, bringing compassionate, culturally attuned care to communities facing profound barriers.

Her work reflects a core Salinda Health value: every person deserves kind, dignified, and accessible care, no matter where they are or what they’ve been through.

A Life Rooted in Balance and Connection

To sustain the energy and presence she brings to her patients, Jesahel prioritizes her own wellness. You can often find her hiking with her dogs and partner, paddleboarding, or enjoying meaningful time with friends. She brings this same groundedness and joy into her work, helping patients feel understood, supported, and genuinely cared for.
